Fife Summer Jazz Course 2010

Jazz enthusiasts once again have a fantastic opportunity to take part in this course at St Leonards School and Sixth Form College, St Andrews. Organised by Creative Development, Arts and Theatres Trust the course attracts participants nationwide. It includes series of morning, afternoon and evening sessions where you will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the best jazz tutors in the country with a view to improving and developing standards of playing, public performance and improvisation.Previous jazz experience is not essential but a basic grounding in your chosen instrument(s) would be an advantage.

Residents: Full Rate £370 Concession £310
Non Residents: Full Rate £265 Concession £205
Concession rates are for participants under 18, over 65 and those in full-time education. Demand will be high for a limited number of spaces so early booking is recommended.
It is entirely possible for non-readers to participate in this course. However some of the skills will be more readily understood by those with basic music literacy skills. The Fife Jazz Course is a practical course with the emphasis firmly placed upon playing and singing. The theory taught relates to everything played and participants are guaranteed to have their ears and minds opened to the liberating and exciting world of improvisation.
