Happy to have a water pump - Murro, Uganda
Pupils at Masterton Primary are raising money to help support the work of WaterAid through their buckets of pennies for buckets of water appeal.
WaterAid is an international charity whose vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and sanitation.
Shockingly, 884 million people in the world do not have access to safe drinking water and as a result 4,000 children die every day from preventable water-related diseases.
We hope you will support the charity by turning buckets of pennies into buckets of safe water! We are collecting pennies (or any loose change that is in your purse).
Pupils will be bringing in their pennies in empty water bottles or in bags between Monday 15th and Monday 22nd March.
For more information about the work of WaterAid please visit their website at www.wateraid.org.
World Water Day – Monday 22 March
Pupils will be celebrating World Water Day by carrying out a lesson about ‘water’ and there will be a whole school assembly with a guest speaker from WaterAid.
