Budgets and finance
We need to save £100 million over the next four years. Budget planning is an ongoing process and there will be a range of ways for the public to get involved throughout the rest of the year.
We’ve published all the savings proposals put forward by council services last year, including savings that councillors incorporated into this year’s budget (2013/14), as well as suggestions that weren’t taken forward, to give an idea of the range of options the council has to consider.
Because of the scale of the financial challenge ahead, some of these ideas will be back up for discussion this year along with new proposals. We’re reviewing areas of high spend such as transport and procurement, and every Service is working to identify more ways to save. Later in the year a range of new savings options will be published and we’ll be asking for people’s views.
Fife Council approved it's budget for 2013 on Thursday 14 February. Copies of the Revenue and Capital budgets are published below.
At the beginning of the year we completed our first ever draft budget consultation and you can read the consultation report online. Although the consultation is now closed you can still view the ideas and comments put forward.
