Budgets and finance

Demand for council services is going up at the same time as the budgets we have available to provide them get tighter every year. These financial challenges mean we are constantly striving to work more efficiently and effectively.

Budget planning is an ongoing process and council services are identifying savings all year round. See more about the efficiency savings we're making this year.

On 18 November 2014 the Labour Administration presented their Draft Revenue Budget 2015-18 to the Executive Committee. A public consultation on the draft proposals ran until January. Over 3000 people got involved and the Administration amended their final proposals presented to the full Council.

On 12 February 2015, councillors agreed the final Revenue Budget 2015-18

Decisions taken in previous years' budgets may also impact services and savings, this year and next. See also Approved Revenue Budget 2014-17
